The Amador Film Festival – Take Two! will be held in Sutter Creek starting with a reception and North American movie premiere on Friday, April 17th and continue with a whole day of screenings on Saturday, April 18.
The event, a fundraiser for the Amador County Arts Council, will be held at the Sutter Creek Community Building at 33, Church Street.
The opening night movie – Hope Eternal – is a moving drama set in Africa and tells the story of a nurse trying to help the sick, raise her daughter and find romance amid the turmoil and bloodshed in warring nations. The movie was the official British entry for last month’s Academy Awards in the Foreign Language category. There are seven languages heard in the movie. This will be the first screening outside the official Oscar showings.
Opening night tickets are $15.00 that also includes hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar. Saturday tickets are $5.00 for each screening – at 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. – Or you may purchase a Weekend Pass to include the Friday Opening Night PLUS All showings on Saturday for $25.00.
