Committed to Encouraging, Supporting and Promoting the Arts
at the Amador County Fair
In 1999 and 2000, the Amador County Arts Council wrote grants given by the California Arts Council and the California Department of Agriculture, Division of Fairs and Expositions, to participate in a program for joint projects with County Arts Organizations and County Fairs. Because of this program, the Amador County Arts Council has become an active participant at the Amador County Fair. Each year the Amador County Arts Council hires artists to do art projects with the public at the Fair.
In 1999 the ARTS COUNCIL worked with the Fair and Mule Creek State Prison to construct wooden benches and had local artists paint and decorate them.
In 2000, the Amador County Arts Council again worked with the Fair and Mule Creek State Prison to construct wooden trash container enclosures and had local artists paint and decorate them.
